Memories of Hawaii Five-O

Did Richard Boone and Jack Lord Work Together
to Establish the Hawaii Film Studio?
An unknown source said that Richard Boone (Palladin) worked alongside Jack to establish the Hawaii Film Studio. Mr. Boone had lived in Hawaii since the middle of the 1960s. A bit of Googling told me that, although Mr. Boone lived in the Islands, he did not participate in the efforts to establish the studio.
According to the Honolulu Star-Bulletin(1) and the Filmboards.com(2) website, the studio came about out of Hawaii Five-O's need for a place to film that was away from the airport, where the noise from planes taking off and landing disrupted filming. Early filming took place in a Navy Quonset hut that was not only too close to the airport, but also was uncomfortably hot. They went on to say that there is no evidence that Mr. Boone was ever a part of the project.
Two men who did help Jack establish the studio were Takahashi San and Yamamoto San, who were honored with the names of two koi in a pond in the episode "Pray Love Remember, Pray Love Remember" (Season 1). They helped to locate the land near Diamond Head where the studio ultimately was built.
Copilot Search Branding(3) went on to say that Jack contributed not only his creative talents, but as an executive producer after Leonard Freeman's passing, but also his personal (financial) investment.
Truly, Jack put heart and soul into the making of Hawaii Five-O.
